Punk RC Dig Switch
How To

Cool man, dig it! What? Tony a Beatnik No, I’m not that old! I’m always on the lookout for some unique r/c products and especially like companies and people that are innovative and inventive. With the help of Ryan Morgan, local crawler and reigning president of the Western New York Radio Controlled Rock Crawlers club (WNYRCRC), I found the Dig Switch from PunkRC. Ryan takes us through a bit of a how to / review.

This is a product from PunkRC.com called The Dig Switch. This is made to be used with your motor on axle rock crawler. This device allows you to use front wheel drive , rear wheel drive, or four wheel drive with a flick of a 3 position switch on your radio. I have been using these for about 6 months without one issue.

There is a bit of soldering involved. The 2 wires that normally go to your motor from the esc now go to the center of the punk device for power. Then the 2 other sets of wires go to each motor. The circuit board is clearly marked.

After all connections are complete, just mount the PunkRC device in your crawler.

Once powered, there are a series of LED lights that let you know what position you are in. Green 4 wheel drive-Red front wheel drive-Blue rear wheel drive.

This device eliminates mechanical servo controlled dig switches. It is electronic, instant switching, no end points to adjust. No extra switches to wire, mount and align for use. Enjoy and good luck with your new PunkRC dig unit.

I would like to thank Ryan Morgan for taking the time to put this all together for us here at WNYRC.com. Thank you Ryan! Cool man, dig it!
